Honestly, it takes some effort haha since I think a lot of us are really good at self depreciation.
Something that’s helped me is making the effort to compliment my own art C: I only look through other people’s art when I’m in a good headspace for it, so knowing yourself and when to shut off social media is a good tactic.
Also- learning how to enjoy the process of drawing has been really helpful to my own self esteem. For a while I found I was focused on the end goal that I forgot to enjoy myself haha it’s easy to get caught up in it C: if you find a process of creation you enjoy partaking in the end of a piece is nice, but even if it turned out not the exact way you wanted you’ve had fun and there’s something positive to associate that piece with.
Practice can be a big help too, just in general. Focusing on little goals in your art (like I want to improve leg anatomy, I wanna shade hair better, etc..) is really helpful! Just saying I wanna improve is daunting, but making a specific goal for the day, even if it’s just a little one, is very helpful. Also knowing when to step away!! Sometimes we genuinely need a break, and taking the time to break away from art also can give a good refresh so you can look at the piece w new eyes C:

•Very good advice for ya here already in here. The big one is “don’t compare yourself to other artists” and i’d also emphasize not to think: “they got so good so much faster than me!” as well as the ever looming “this artist is still a teen and paints far better than me!” As I find those are the specific bits I typically hear from artists discouraged.
Also! Practice
feeling like you’re faking it till ya make it in your art can really bring out imposter syndrome. Practicing parts of anatomy, coloring, lighting, or anything that you feel weak in will increase your confidence! Just know it’s not easy and every artist you look up to has done this too

•I’m someone who battles with confidence in my art everyday, the main 2 things that have helped me is taking time away from seeing others art and just seeing your own and also just trying to improve 1% at a time. Comparing yourself with others is fine if the mentality behind that is to figure out where you can improve or draw inspiration from but its detrimental if your looking at someone else and putting yourself down. A common practice I use is every time I have a negative thought about myself or art I stop and challenge they thought with a positive thought eventually it becomes habit BUT it takes work and patience !

•don’t compare yourself to other artists! instead, compare your art to the things you made a while ago (months/ a year / idk ) and see how much you’ve improved !
•
•To not compare yourself with others!!! Only focus on what your doing and whether your enjoying it! And overtime you’ll start to see more and more improvement
•
•Just draw like you don't care, don't care about how others feel about it. Only do it for yourself and then post it, if others don't like it, it's no biggie
