My OCs are mostly based off of my emotions at the time of their creation, a lot of them have anxiety/trauma/depression and/or are rejects, have bad social lives, socially unacceptable, stereotype rejects, that kind of thing. Most of them, I take one of my emotions from the big jumble in my mind and concentrate on that, making it the character’s personality. I have 5 or 6 psychotic characters, representing intrusive thoughts, a couple of them being killers, one being an arsonist and a few others who are masochistic or sadistic.

hello! i think one of my main ones, faye (her name will change soon), is definitely a self insert in a way. she is super passionate and artistic but she struggles with anxiety. other than her personality, though, things are very different. she lives in a complex fantasy world filled with kingdoms, conflicts, wars, and magic. i’ve adjusted her character and motivations to match the plot and world, so as time has gone on, she has become her own distinct person, not just a copy paste of me. what about you?

•I have an oc called Ivan, he was one of the first ones I made when I was a teenager extremely tired of school and everything involved in it. Ivan's a guy who skips class and smokes behind the canteen. He doesn't really have any motivation or hobbies.
He hasn't changed very much except his name changed from Otto to Ivan but the story he's in has. He gets sent back in time by accident and that changes him completely by the time he's aged back into present day. I think without realising he kind of grew with me? Like, we were the same when I made him and I relate a lot to the person he becomes when he's lived through time. What about you? Also your art is so pretty!

•I have a lot of them in my head, but after sometime they mostly morph into their own thing. Once they are destinct enough I pluck them out of the storys universe and put them into their own world.
