I also have times where I get ZERO commissions. I got one recently but I stayed a year without a single commissioned work. So basically what worked for me is having artist friends that sometimes can't work on a client and it gets passed to me so I know I have that 1 client a year to work on. Usually they come back if they trust you.
Otherwise I had to dive into fandom earlier on. Like forums and similar to show my art samples. I don't have time for that now so I just continue with the few clients that know me and if someone else finds me that's a plus but putting the word out there really helps in fetching clients! Especially if you have friends that can help you do that

•Your art is definitely worthy enough, it's the economy that sucks, not many people have the spare cash to spend on art at the moment, and probably the ones who do won't risk commissioning a new person, they will return to someone they have bought art from before because the money vs risk will seem lower. I have seen people use the FOMO method to get commissions on Tumblr, but I don't know how well it works or if they are just bluffing about their limited slots filling up quickly ( not that I'm against bluffing if it works, I just have no perspective to judge how well it works)

•I closed them down, tried again later. Also, thought about what worked and what didn't. I know failing feels scary, but it's okay to fail.

The market is insane. To the people viewing your posts, your work may just not be what they are looking for. I’d encouraging you to focus on things that will improve your art in the meantime, and eventuallly a commissioner will spot you

•don't say that about your work!! I'm sorry i can't help with anything at all but still! you don't deserve telling yourself such a thing!! I'm desperate for commissions too but i would need a decent amount of followers first :(
