How many layers do you usually use while drawing//painting?

I always end up using just 3 or 4.

Between 5 to 50s depending on what the drawing is ;w;
Depends on the drawing, honestly... 1 or 2 for the sketch, 1 for lines, 1 for flat colors, 2-3 for shadows and highlights, 1-4 for background (simple to complex)

So... Anywhere from 5 to 11-ish haha
Around 20 or so layers. In the past, when I first started, I did only five layers: sketch, lineart, flats, shadows, highlights. Then I did 40 layers, for each element in an illustration. I hated having to organize and look through every layer, so I found a nice middle ground using 20 layers or so.
I use under 20, but I merge a lot of them
At the start it used to be pretty much in the 40s... 💀💀 I've cut down A LOT though. Now it's mostly 10-15 max depending on what the piece requires (bg, effects, etc)
I do a lot of complex paintings so usually it’s up in the 30s
Depends how confident I am with what I'm making, or how fast I wanna work/if its just a study -- I use one layer sometimes and sometimes more than procreate will let me have so I gotta duplicate the whole file before I merge things just incase 😅
20+ 🙃
At least 25, but mostly around 50 xD
I usually use 3 or 5 layers but when im in sicko mode i'll use up to 20+
1 for the character, 1 for the background, 1 for the watermark, if I want to copy paste something I can end up with 40+, but I always merge them
Every layer is kept even if it doesn’t have anything on it cause I stupid ‘3’
Sometimes it can go up to 40 layers wkfndşfnd but usually its around uhh 20? Few sketch layers, color+lineart layer, another lineart layer sjdjsjs and effects ✨
So many😳
3 to 4 is just the sketch layers for me👀
Around 4+ tho they can go up to 100 since I like to test different textures and hues before I merge them with the final painting
Normally I try to keep it at the minimum as possible and I go combining them, but lately I don't care and I ended up with around 70 layers
I separated things a lot, like, several layers of shadows or highlights
I think I use about 8 to 10? More layers if it's more details
