What really annoys me is you have those very opportunistic users from any platform that would come to your profile and flood like your contents and maybe leave a comment but doesn't follow you. I mean please don't this. Honestly, if you have no intention of genuinely supporting an artist, don't give unnecessary flood likes or comments when it's so hard for you to just give them a follow. It's also a dick move to follow someone only to unfollow after they followed you back.Sep 21, 2022

ngl i dont mind bc i dont think anyone is trying to swindle me into following them. and personally sometimes i /like/ the art, but i dont love it enough to follow. like, it's gotta make my brain go "omg i cant walk away without following". so i'll scroll through a bit and leave a few likes & comments on stuff that stands out to me. ive had people do the same and i figured they were just like me
I do something like this every now and then, but its not to annoy people, I genuinely like an art piece if I ever leave a comment or click on the heart icon, but if I ended up not following its usually because something in the artist's gallery set me off.

Be it some gore posts or just lots of fanarts of a ship or a show I don't like. I still click on the likes though, because I feel it is important to let these artists know that I appreciated some of their works.

But... now that I know it could have annoyed lots of people I will stop I guess 🤷‍♀️
I’ve had this happen a few times to me, even bigger artists have done this spamming likes and leaving multiple comments on my work for a few days then never following me and then disappearing when I don’t follow them. It’s annoying and just gives off a bad vibe from them so even if I like their art I won’t follow or like any posts from them because of that.
I don’t think I’ve had anyone do this. The ones that like spam me are followers (by memory) so far. However, if I end up getting these people, I’m sorry, but it’s the one-way ticket to block town 😔
Exactly, it's ungenuine and extremely fake.

Usually what I do is I leave a nice comment. Then if I see more their work and have more interest. I'll follow them. I also follow if the person is very interesting, fun and admirable.

Only reason why I may unfollow someone is if they honestly begin rubbing me the wrong way.

Outside of that I follow those I'm genuinely interested in and support me just as much. Even if they don't and I find them interesting. I'll stick around.

Outside of that. A lot of the people who DO do that stuff are people who are ass kissers for the sake of growth or attention. And it rots.

I'm someone who comes out of the shadows on occasion for a person or two I think genuinely should have the encouragement or a good question to answer.
