It's not constructive criticism but just some idea, You could try to add something to their tail like spine or fins, Mark, something, I suggest to you to see mermaid accurate drawing, There's so many inspiration for the mermaid tail design, Though if you still want to keep their design like this it's fine, This is just suggestion, And I'm still liking their design ast it is^^
