Context!
We continue with the draconic summer's end choreographed flight competition with the undefeated champions, Bea and Erik! Nicknamed by the fans as Bloodwing and Goldwing for their flashy wing colors, they're professional flight dancers and choreographers and have been a team since they were like 12.
Their main gimmick is light refraction! Erik's wings are a slightly translucent, highly reflective yellow that, when angled against the light just right, appears to shine golden. The effect is strong enough he can leave a trail of light behind him as he flies. The way they use this in competition is usually to frame Bea in dramatic light shows as she performs more elaborate pirouettes.
They've consistently won the local competition for enough years in a row it's now part of the event. People trying to dethrone them is as much a part of the spectacle as the actual flight is, and Bea and Erik, despite often being away or busy with work, always come back for the event, no matter what.
.... they're also infuriatingly in love with each other, have been since they were kids, but both refuse to admit it or do anything about it. Their friends are, understandably, really annoyed.
