Ahh, I'm currently struggling with a drawing right now, it's so hard to try and give sort of realistic proportions and looks to a fictional character, its the third time I try and it still doesn't look quite... good ?
Anyone got tips on that?

Break the body into shapes, keep it loose, then use references to polish it up, just keep reworking until it meets ur vision, as close as possible ofc

Sometimes when I can’t get a character right, specially on complicated poses and/or weird angles, I draw the skeleton first with ribs and everything in a sketch layer, and then I smooth it out by drawing the skin on it. Overly complicated? Probably, but it works out for me heheh!

welcome!! gesture drawing and anatomy take a while to learn but it’s the easiest route to applying realism anywhere, really pays off
