Consume, Confuse, Conform

The age we are now in, (and have been in for awhile) reminds me of Fahrenheit 451 and the story's world with screens.
(if you read the book you know what I'm talking about, surely; if not I highly recommend the read)
Phones, Computers, TVs, watches, game systems, cars, even freaking refrigerators.....

I've grown tired of screens and the mindless, neuron numbing, noisy content they deliver. Alot of it is just meant to distract, confuse, make you want more of it, and to conform you into what everyone else is doing, thinking, believing.

I understand the internet and tech can be great thing-
I never would have met my wonderful friends if not for it- but the constant bombardment of it leaves me(and I'm sure most others too even if they wont admit it) feeling empty and in a fog that I can't seem to clear.
Its a fog that not only hinders my mind; but my heart as well. The constant consuming of media leaves you with little room to THINK, to think for yourself, to pray, to be able to listen to God when He speaks; because of the constant fog of you trying to process EVERYTHING you just took inside your mind and your heart within seconds.
Most of it in subtle and devious ways tells you to stay glued longer-longer and longer;
consume more content for an extra 15 seconds-
one more-
one more-
one more-
more-
more-
more-
more-
scroll scroll scroll
tap tap tap
swipe swipe swipe
like dislike like dislike
it never seems to cease-
and all the ideas presented and repeated over and over and over in a hive mind format starts to dull the mind and leaves it open to adopting those ideas, creating another bee in the hive of nonsense.

In Romans it warns us "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God"
and in 2nd Corinthians, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,"

I'm just saying all in all; take long breaks away from screens and the content/social media they provide, they're distracting and not great for the mind or the Spirit. Stay sharp and in God's word to counter enemy tactics that's being pushed to you through your screens.

Oooooo wow I love this and yoyr take on this I remember actually reading Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 in highschool and its interesting how some of the concepts that weren't seen during that time are seen now.

But yeah, just simply stepping back from social media and the internet in general is honestly refreshing especially when u do it to focus more on Gods word, ita always a treat!❤️❤️
