If you block someone on here do they get notified or smth? Or do they have to actively search for something.. if so what?

Oh yeah, searching their username will make it look like their account never existed because nothing should come up.
The text post thing is for either keywords or hashtags used in the post. It’s odd, but helpful for when I’m trying to figure out why I blocked someone, I’ll go “Oh yeah, I blocked them because they promote scams or are overly negative in their text posts!”

No, the user does not get notified you blocked them. They’d only notice if they knew of you & tried checking your account or a post & would see “This user blocked you” when visiting the profile, all posts are hidden & for the person you blocked when they visit your profile.
In the search, only text posts from people you blocked or vice versa can be seen (& cannot be interacted with.) Image posts should still be hidden completely like they don’t exist, but I heard a user or two say something about it not being hidden anymore, but that might’ve been a bug?
