Im gonna drop another: Vlad and Aerin were close friends, but they were turned into dangerous beasts. Aerin a werewolf, Vlad a vampire.
Vladimir stayed on the bad side and Aerin joined the good side. Eventually they had to meet eachother in battle which tugged at each others soul. Vlad could have killed Aerin, but spared her in the end.

One of my ocs, her name is Li'Nae, is also a merc. She was born into that life and was trained to become a professional one. Because of her up-bringing shes very cold towards people, but she means no harm in the way she acts.

Dorian wanted to be a professional boxer, but his father wanted him to be a policeman, so he sent him to northern capital to study low and politics; Dorian became big and strong, so when he came home, he clobber his father till blood, but still couldn't thwart father's will and became a police officer as parents wanted; they never had good relationship, but some years after father redeemed Dorian from jail where he was put for beating his subordinate, to save the family's honor
Fun fact his wife's father also managed to redeem Dorian from jail after that again because of the same situation with beating people and saving family honor
