Markus Rivera - The King of Hearts
(2017) The King can sometimes represent foresight, and hearts represents the joy of social interaction. However the King of Hearts is sometimes refered to the Suicide King and represents self destruction out of selfishness and worthless causes. This particular aspect reflects Markus’ experiences with depression and his ultimate suicide in his early life.------
The character illustrations in these playing cards are inspired by the fashion of the 1970s combined with the bright colors and funky patterns of the 1980s. The characters belong to a story that focuses on the personal lives of a group of teenagers that dream of broadcasting their music beyond the moon.
