Does anyone else have a mutual or know someone who's really popular that l started an "art phase"?

I know this popular upperclassman in my uni who recently started making art. Which in theory, is fantastic. Until I found out she traces and never makes anything original. Which should be fine on its own if she only wants to practice! But she keeps calling her art "masterpieces" and "original" which kind of tickles me the wrong way.

I noticed that this is a thing. I also knew someone popular in high school who went through this art phase, where they made some stolen art, got praised for it, never interacted with other artists or did anything creative, called themselves some kind of Van Gogh and stopped making art after a few weeks because they got bored of it.

It is somewhat infuriating, knowing very underrated artists out there who come up with original and creative ideas never really get the support they deserve only because they're not popular or attractive in real life. 🀧🀧

At the end of the day, I don't know, though! Maybe I'm just being too cynical. I'm just some eMo kId whO hATe THe PrEpS! Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or offer a different POV to discuss with me.

Tbh i was one kid who had an artphase when i was 14, but somehow that artphase spiralled into me making my own art now and finding myself. Befor it was only for validation and i traced alot, now tho i releaent the basic and im drawring every day hoping to make it as an artist. I think it can be both had and good for us who art art kids from the start
