I'm enjoying editing a TON. I was dreading editing TSTS at first. I've written a handful of books in the past, but never actually edited anything properly (tried to edit Fish and Dragonfly, but it was awful because I didn't know what I was doing).
Editing essays in college taught me to hate editing and that it was all just about spell check and grammar. But actually going through and working on TSTS and doing developmental edits and working with my crit group and my beta reader is so much fun. I feel like I've been able to add so much more impact into my story. It's so satisfying.
I've written 4/40 chapters for draft 2 and I'm so excited to dive into the next chapter tomorrow! (It's the chapter that Cairo is introduced in
I love my angry vengeful man sm)
Anyone interested in good resources on writing, ones I've really liked are:

Kate and Abbie Show on YouTube (and podcast sites)

Story Genius by Lisa Cron
On Writing (And Writers) by CS Lewis (even if you are not Christian, his writing advice is very, very solid so I recommend it anyways. At least look into his tips on writing and some of his essays on writing)Jan 22, 2025
