Panic Attack

The clamour and the clatter of incensed keys
Can bring a nation to its knees
On the wings of a lethal icon, bird of prey
It's a sign of the times when bedlam rules
When the masses condone pompous fools
And the scales of justice tip in disarray

Loved this song from the moment I first listened to it. It speaks about the way those in power use the internet, specifically social media, to spread mass fear and propaganda. We are being distracted, turned against each other, while a few rich assholes profit from the suffering and injustice they force onto the world. It's easy to get caught up in this game and forget what really matters, to let yourself be used to uphold this injustice.

It makes me think of a lot of the senseless online discourse and infighting in certain communities. It's easy to get caught up in petty arguments, but in the end only one party profits off of keeping us separated and thinking of each other as the enemy.

It's hard to not be constantly overwhelmed with the horrors of the world. War, poverty genocide, climate change, fascism, wherever you look it's pain and destruction. And it wears you down until you're too tired to care.

I think Panic Attack captures this mental overload pretty well. The moment just before you shut down. I hope I managed to convey the same feeling with my art.

This is a beautiful piece! I adore the colors and the usage of warm colors to portray the feeling of what it’s like to have a panic attack
