Freydis (Vikings)
After a couple of weeks of not working on any new art a few months ago, I decided to go ahead and look for my next subject to draw, and I went ahead and settled on drawing Freydis from the show Vikings. (And given that I've mostly been drawing guys, I decided to try and draw a girl this time.) and I also chose to draw Freydis because I really liked the dramatic shadows that were in the original photo, and I wanted to try and replicate that with the white charcoal. (a feat that was easily accomplished with the black paper I did the drawing on.) I went ahead and chose white charcoal this time because I want to alternate between the white Caran D'Ache pencil I have and the white charcoal, plus I wanted to finish up the white charcoal pencil since it's almost been sharpened to a nub. (though I did go out and bought another set of white charcoal pencils, so I'll at least have more once I use up the one I'm using.) Overall, I had a lot of fun drawing Freydis, and I plan to start working on another piece soon!Jul 21, 2023#sketch
