This is very random but please tell me how you like your mashed potatoes (if you like them at all)!
When I was growing up thought there was only one way to make them (with one of those wire masher guys) but there's actually like, heaps??? I didn't even know ricers were a thing for ages, snd some people like PUSH them through a sieve?!? Also there's so many ways for people to cook potatoes before they even get mashed, I didn't realize!!
Personally, my favorite way is still with the potato masher, I like lots of lumps! And loads of butter and milk too. Sometimes if I have time I stir in fried onion, peas, corn, garlic powder, shredded cheese, maybe bacon... It's an entire meal by itself at that point

I like mashed potatoes but I find all potato foods make drinks and other food taste likeβ¦ dirty? Idk how to describe it other than that. So its heckin unfortunate lmaO itβs like, I love them but I gotta be so careful w what i eat and drink w em.

My favorite mashed potato meal is when you mix in corn and gravy and breaded chicken (like nuggets)
We've always prepared them by peeling and cubeing the potatoes, then mashing them with the potato masher very well, so not many lumps. We use butter and milk too :)

β’When making mashed potatoes, I have a more lazier approach lol. I just toss some potatoes (with the skin on) into my instant pot and when they are done cooking, I take a big serving spoon and put in a lot of margarine and then hack away at the potatoes until they are all mashed and mixed enough
β’
β’Skin on, chunky, with lots of butter, salt, pepper, and garlic! Sieves and rivers for mashed potatoes, it's a no from me, dawg
I use a potato masher.

β’Iβve only been eating mashed potatoes that my dad makes. And always as a side dish. He mashes them by hand, adds some homemade spice, fresh onions and chillies and then in the end puts all of it in a container with a small piece of hot coal. It gives the whole thing a very smoky taste and itβs so good

β’
β’I like mine with a few lumps (like homemade) with garlic, parsley, butter, maybe some bacon if we have some, a bit of milk to make it creamier (or chicken broth) and a little bit of sour cream
β’
β’I like lumpy, creamy buttery tatoes. I also love loaded mashed potatoes with green onion, cheese, and bacon.
β’
β’I always make them super thick with butter and a twinge of cream or sour cream for my family! I love mashed potatoes!!! They're sooo GOOOD

β’
β’My dad makes them super creamy and buttery (dairy free spread and soy milk version for me
) with a little bit of salt and some sliced spring onions mixed in (he's Irish and he said his Mam (back in Ireland) always made them this way)... always done with a masher after boiling and I'd say it's moderately chunky, but mostly creamy? All these adjectives are starting to lose meaning
am I even making sense at this point?

β’I use the masher to get a few chunks, then switch to a whisk (but Iβm careful not to overmix! Or else they get this weird gummy textureβ¦)
I like mine with a generous amount of butter and specifically Himalayan pink salt and a lil bit of paprika if Iβm feeling fancy :3
also I can only eat my own mashed potatoes, but everyone likes my mashed potatoes so ig I have high potato standards lol

β’i like mine creamy but with chunks of baked potato, with tons of butter, maybe garlic and salt mixed in too!
β’
β’I like real potatoes creamy but not over done. I'll put sour cream, cream cheese or a drop or so of browning sauce on with them. But generally use some full fat milk. Salt, sometimes I'll throw in some other seasonings , top with gravy or meat drippings or make with sweet potatoes or mash squash and eating them with Naan.
β’
β’Oh my goddddd i love mashed potatoes!! My family likes to make a little dent or pool in the middle to put gravy in XD. When im sick, i like having mashed potatoes that have been made with chicken broth.
β’
β’Like it a little chunky but I'm not picky about my mashed potatoes so long as it doesn't taste too... uh so long as it doesn't have the same texture as refried beans.
β’
β’after they are boiled and mashed. [shortly before taking off, milk and margarine are added to mashed/smashed/squashed potatoes] they are tasty to eat together with salad[made from sour cream, little bit of salt and tomato &/ cucumber &/ green onions &/ salad leaves &/ dill &/ radish &/ onion &/ so on fresh greens]. oh and some fried sausages [especially strongly fried or better say little burned]. also nice option is to have omelette too.
.
[hopefully this still makes some sense as i tried to shorten it quite a bit]

β’Love em. Hand mashed, make sure theyβre not completely devoid of chunks. Add LOTS of butter and some salt
