AmandaNinjiFeb26 (DTIYS Entry)

I did another digital art piece once again, and this time it is one of my baby steps in learning kidlit style art. I made it for a Draw This in Your Style challenge run by Amanda.Ninji_Illustration. I felt a bit shy but also keen, so I gave it a go.

In my art, there is a sweet little girl. She wears a soft pink beret with a tiny yellow flower on it. Her brown hair curls around her cheeks. She has big warm eyes and a small kind smile. She holds a blue pot full of bright red flowers, close to her chest. Pink mittens hug the pot, and small heart shapes float near her, like gentle love in the air. She also has a cosy scarf, a warm coat, and fluffy boots, so she looks ready for a cool day outside.

I think the colours came out nice and soft. The light feels warm, and the whole scene feels calm and friendly. Still, it turns out just fine, not top level yet. It looks more like a colour script art than a full pro kidlit art. That is okay, because I am still taking baby steps in this style.

There are many things I need to make better next time, like shape, light, and how the girl fits in her world. I really need kind and clear feedback from well-trained kidlit artists, so I can grow and learn more. I am glad I tried, and I will keep going, one small step at a time.
