I was talking with one of my art teachers + a former art teacher about my work, and it was interesting and mostly fun, but the former art teacher said something that tbh made me kinda sad :(
I showed them my acrylic paintings first and then I showed some of my digital artworks. One of the things the former art teacher said was that the way I paint people in my traditional work is more interesting than the way I draw people digitally. I guess it was supposed to be a compliment towards the acrylic paintings and/or a reflective comment, but hearing that made me feel kinda disappointed? Cus I don't like how I paint my characters, I'm wayyy more satisfied with how I draw them in my digital work.
Ugh, why am I always so damn sensitive!? It's not like she told me to stop drawing digitally. It's not like she told me my digital drawings are bad. What she said was literally just her own personal opinion.Feb 10, 2022

It's fine to be sensitive! it's normal to get upset over comments, especially if they come from authority figures. I know that everyone goes through these kinds of situations differently, but the way you react is completely valid. You heard something that made you upset, and needed to release some of those feelings, and that's perfectly alright.
It sucks that you had to deal with it in a place where there's voices & sounds around you that make you uncomfortable though. Hope youre feeling a bit better now
If it means anything, i quite enjoy seeing your character work, both digital & traditional— from what ive seen, both are interesting in different ways, but it shows that you have a lot of fun with the digital ones ^^
