Trimming the Watersprouts
Every month, a couple comes to this outcrop in the middle of a great lake to trim back the overgrown leaves on a family of watersprouts.
I’ve been feeling at a crossroads with my visual work and so decided to play around with my painting style. This is still gouache, but with an attempt to make it a bit softer, with sharper emphasis on lighting and less reliance on outlines. I’ve always considered myself a stronger composer than painter, and so need to focus more on my skills in that regard.May 3, 2024
