Comic artists and writers do you have any tips and tricks for making a comic.
Where do you start?
How do you figure out the plot and where to go from there?
Any information would be great thank you!Jun 8, 2021

McKay & Gray is an extremely helpful YouTube channel about comics!! If you sort their videos by most popular, the videos relating to your questions will be towards the top :D
Also, I don’t think it’s necessary to script every single episode before starting, but it’s important to at least have a general outline of your plot (bullet points are fine) so you know where you want your story to go (this also lets you add foreshadowing!), but at the same time don’t be afraid to be flexible and add some last minute stuff in there if you get inspired! (I’ve done it multiple times XD)

•Woah, as a very new comic book artist, I started with writing the whole story. If you are gonna do it for the first time, go with a simple story that you can risk because there will be always a chance to mess it up. After writing the the story (it doesn't have to be very detailed, just dialogs and important event is fine), you can sketch the episodes. I use a horizontal page and divided into 8-9 column, it is easy to edit a comic page. Lastly, I just draw, paint and add speech bubbles . if you wanna learn more you can watch YouTube videos. That's how I learned these. And good luck and have fun !

•Keep your style simple. Use illustrations and promos to do the fancy art. Starting too fancy will make it hard to complete work especailly on time

•For a lot of my webcomic advice, I watched LavenderTowne and her two videos on how she dealt with making a webcomic! I found it very helpful, and use a few of those tips when I make my own webcomic!
