Azareth(Drawn By My Bby)Azareth is Death in my and my bby's universe (which is basically modern day but with demons, gods, nightmares(and their modern counterparts who aren't ravenous killers who took a liking to Mexican culture), smilers, lots of aus, and lore so complicated we probably forgot half of it because we don't write anything down(/j/j)
Anyways- about Azareth;
Like royalty, the title of Death is passed down and you remain Death until someone in the royal family can take over. The family member doesn't always have to be willing, especially if Death has done it for thousands and thousands of years(like Azareth).
Typically, every Death in every au/alternate reality is also connected-
So; one day, the second son of his majesty Tadamusa and the late queen Tabitha - who's named Tatsuo and is often the main character alongside my bby's in our aus, but not always - comes to Death asking for a soul to not be recycled
(So much lore, I'm so sorry; when humans die their souls either go to their respective afterlife, often a punishment for the terrible types but also a reward for those ultimate good types, but those who were nuetral or don't believe in an afterlife, their soul is recycled to make a demon who lives in, well, Hell/The Undereorld. Demons don't have souls, but when demons die, they becomes souls for a human)
Anyways, Azareth is like "no, that's not how it works" and Tatsuo goes "I've fallen in love with a human and their soul, I cannot imagine having to live without it" (this takes place at the beginning of farming)
Azareth is like "okay, here's what's gonna happen. We duel, whoever wins gets what they want, okay?"
"Deal,"
So they fight, Tatsuo won, but Azareth decides to be sneaky and makes it so the reincarnated soul has some kind of terrible life growing up, or is in some type of awful situation ,which leads Tatsuo to often be the light in their life.
Sometimes, though, Tatsuo finds the soul as a child or a teenager and, instead of courting them(because he knows not to do that), so he becomes more of a father figure to them. Sometimes mother or parent cause he's really gnc-
Then, tatsuo meets Alec when living as a teenager with a foster family of,, like,, 10, and falls in love. (This was the time when demons were really hated and any demon on Earth would be executed immediately, or simply tortured to find out what works against demons. They don't know much.)
Anyways, Tatsuo royally bites Alec to make them immortal(when they're older, of course)(Tatsuo was also sneaky cause there wasn't any rule against not biting them like royalty)
So, uh, azareth is stuck with the title of Death for a while because he lost a duel with a man who was willing to die for love.
He's really tired and would probably be adopted as another kid if he was just a bit nicerApr 3, 2022
