What is your favourite app for art?

So I’m thinking of doing a review on some of the apps people use for art but I’d love to know what others think?

The apps I’ve used/use are as follows:
-Instagram
-VSCO
-TikTok
-tumblr
-artfol
-YouTube
-webtoon
-twitter
-herd

All in all I’d say originally instagram was okay for artist, but as it’s gotten more,,,, idk more “elite” being that if you don’t have a previous following somewhere else, if you aren’t following rigorous posting times and tips and tricks for the algorithm then ur screwed (not to mention how ableist it is in order to succeeded thru all that) but it is defiantly the nicest platform in terms of setting up one’s account/profile, idk mixed feelings but they do hart artists.

TikTok has been my best platform but god it’s harrrrrdddd to remember to film things, the interaction is better but I still find it hard to generate interaction in forms of comments or shares and I’m not sure what more to do to improve it?

Either way I hate the current art world simply because unless you have fame or connections, the chance you will be successful in art is very,,,,, slim

Twitter- despite I hate how twitter is a literal debate den, I guess I had no choice and I'm mostly using this to support other artists.
Discord- just to show friends and places I roleplay in my drawings.
Instagram- honestly, the 'liking on stories' destroyed the app. But I use it because joining in collabs and DTIYS are fun.
Deviantart- Nostalgia reasons.
Artfol- i did notice this app is slowly improving and is getting more active so why not get back to it.
Artfol, (YouTube) ✨
Artfol and Webtoon. Webtoon mainly because I have a comic, but Artfol is so nice and calming.
insta. as life destructive and demotivating the ol’ algorithm is, i still use it bc i follow some really great people on there. insta pre-2019 was the place to be. now my art hardly reaches an audience. i kinda wanna branch out to different platforms to share my art but i’m not sure. twitter is off limits for me (for obvious reasons)
artfol, its way more chill here. dont need to upload every week. plus people actually talk to each other lmao
I like twitter. If I can follow artist in twitter I do that over any other site/app. 😅 It is just easier when I read everything from there already.
Apart from Artfol I only have tumblr. I love being on tumblr but maybe I’m just weird lmao. Faanrts tend to do better there, but if you built an audience ocs are loved as well!
I’ve left insta around 1 year or a little more then that, ago. I couldn’t take it anymore , it messed with my mental health.
For me, I couldn’t take it anymore with Instagram- for how much it changed and not being able to even see what my friends are posting and having to hunt them down or even finding cool artists/art, and even growing on there…it’s just horrible! And it’s filled with bots, popular accounts who just steal each other’s work, unoriginal content and even advertisements AND MORE. I wish Instagram would go back to the old times where it was just sharing what you have created, celebrated, and even pet pictures! I also want to see my friends photos without hunting thanks and just grow without over burning myself out. On top of that- the rules are terrible! Two friends of mine have had problems with false reports and even one of them nearly lost their account too. :( it’s a mess.

YouTube, with art I am still new to that as I only done two videos but with my other account- I will say that growing on YouTube is super hard because the algorithm is all over the place and sometimes YouTube will legit determine what videos they want to push out or not want to push out so it’s like gambling but I think what’s important is that as long as you have fun just creating videos and actually enjoy it, then you will eventually gain an audience! Do I like Youtube? To be honest, it’s more so just creating videos I enjoy and having a fun time! And I am grateful to have a platform to share my videos on! It’s just that I wish the platform would do better on many areas to help smaller creators, ban bots/false copyright claims, return dislikes, better algorithm, etc :(

Twitter…No we do not need to talk about that (>u>)

Artfol is pretty much the only place I feel accepted and feel so comfortable in without the worry of the algorithm smacking me down not having toxic people in the community. Everyone is so friendly and actually help one another, and sharing art feels so peaceful! :D
And Artfol actually listens to their audience which most big apps/companies do not so to have that- it’s so meaningful!

Sorry for my rambles but I hope this helps and if you need any more help on your review, I’d be happy to help! :D
I feel you 😔
I just recently moved to Artfol bc instagram just won't do it for me. Though I'd still use it for making a portfolio.

I can't handle twitter either since I barely get any interaction there, and tags don't help either.
