hey heads up you guys: cara isn't an art social media. it won't be anything like instagram, it focuses on creators who are actively looking to get hired in the industry. so in other words, it's not hobby friendly. a better alternative would probably be artfol (here hehe) or even tumblr. cara is just another artstation (which isn't a bad thing, but it isn't what you're looking for if you want to get away from instagram). best of luck fellow artist <33Jun 1, 2024

Yeah, Cara was designed to be a new Artstation after that went down the ai route. Artfol was kinda designed to be an Instagram and deviantart hybrid.
But if you want normie socmed to reach non-artists - use bluesky. It's basically an offshoot of twitter, owned by totally different people. But there's a good artist community, as well as regular ppl looking for a way out of the Nazi Bar.
I love Tumblr, but if you're escaping AI stuff - they're also selling data to AI companies. The opt out is easier than filling a form and maybe getting rejected. But it's basically a "midjourney pls pwomise not to use this users data, ok? uwu"
