Praise the Sun

Here’s some fun facts about sunflowers that I took way too long to learn:

• The supposed flower is actually a flower head made up by thousands of florets

• Sunflower seeds are the full fruit of each individual disk floret

• Only sunflower buds follow the sun throughout the day; fully fledged sunflowers stay facing eastAug 13, 2022
