I have a question for you:
If I say "I'm doing" Does it mean I'm fine or just : I'm not really good but at least I'm living?

Edit: Thanks to the people who responded, google translate said it meant "I'm fine" ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚

I would generally consider it one of the options that risingrose gave. I have a friend who often replies like that. I take it to mean "I'm not exactly doing well but I'm making do" sorry of thing I guess?

I mean idk about other people but when someone asks me "how are you doing"/"how are you''/"how's it going"/"how's your day been" and I respond with "Im doing."/"I am."/"It's Going."/"It has Been." That can mean one of a couple of things. The main ones that come to mind on the spot are

-"I honestly don't know how I'm doing/what I'm feeling right now"
-"the day has been such a big rollercoaster of emotions and there have been so many ups and downs that I can't even say how it was and how i feel about it, but it sure did exist"
-"I'm just kind of existing right now. I don't feel bad and I don't feel good, I don't feel much of anything, but not necessarily in a bad way, im just sort of here doing nothing"
-"I'm doing horrible right now but im currently recovering from whatever happened today so I don't want to give you an honest answer because you will try to console me, when right now all I need is a chat and a little distraction. But i also don't want to lie and say I'm good or okay"
-"bad things happened, but I don't currently want to mention it because you messaged me so clearly you want to tell me something and I don't want to shut that down"
-"most of the day has been shit, so i should feel bad, but i just watched something funny so Im having a good time regardless? Therefore I don't know how to answer your question"
-"oh fuck wait that was the send button"

I'm fine in Americans mean I'm depressed

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that, but I agree with @/somnium_png, it sounds like a grammar/sentence syntax error.

Ngl to me it just sounds like an incomplete sentence

Iโ€™ve heard โ€œhowโ€™s it goingโ€ and โ€œitโ€™s going,โ€ but I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve heard โ€œIโ€™m doing.โ€ Maybe cuz I donโ€™t get out much ๐Ÿ˜‚ but when I hear Iโ€™m doing, I immediately think youโ€™ll finish the sentence with an activity or just explaining how your day has been. Thatโ€™s just me tho lol๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿฝ
