Seannadigi2K (DTIYS Entry)
I did another digital art piece again today, and this time it is one of my baby steps into kidlit-style art. I feel a bit shy, yet also quite proud, because I am still learning how to make this cute and warm style work in my own way. This art is also my entry for a Draw This in Your Style challenge, kindly hosted by SeannaDigi. I wanted to keep the heart of the host art, but also add my own small touch and soft look.
In the picture, I drew a sweet little girl. She has big, shiny brown eyes that look kind and calm. Her brown hair is tied up in a high ponytail with a bright red bow. Her cheeks look rosy, like she has just come in from cool air. She is wearing a cosy dress with pretty lines and tiny heart shapes near the top. The cloth has warm colours, like soft red, green, and a bit of gold, which makes it feel safe and snug. On her feet are cute brown boots with bright lace, and she stands in a gentle, calm pose.
In her arms, she is holding a rabbit plush. The bunny looks soft and a bit cheeky, with long pink ears and a tiny face that feels full of mood. The girl hugs it close, as if it is her best mate. Behind her, there is a neat, warm grid background in a soft yellow tone, which helps the girl and her bunny stand out in a clear and simple way.
I think the artwork turns out fine. It feels sweet and warm, and it fits the kidlit mood I was aiming for. Still, since I am only in my baby steps with kidlit art, I know there are many things I must improve next time, like better shapes, cleaner lines, and even softer light. Even so, I am glad I tried, and I feel happy to keep learning and growing from here.Jan 30, 2026
