@BugCatcherDa's post on Artfol

I don’t usually make posts that aren’t either provocative or silly, but I’m going through some strange emotions.

(If you don’t wanna read a sappy personal post, this is your out) (I have no other socials and no one else to really talk to)

I just left a friend group that I found kept continuously getting toxic. Towards me, specifically. I can take jokes and all that. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers, but I was always the butt of jokes and the jokes were getting worse and worse and then I just sorta…reached my limit. There was no major blowout or anything. No cathartic rage flowing freely. I silently bowed out without saying a word to anyone. And that was it.

The thing is, ragazzi, I really do love those guys. They were my clowns! My squad! They were my only real friends and when things were good, they were great. But I just couldn’t stand being made fun of, bringing it up with those who were doing it, having big fights, and returning to the same positions only for things to remain the same and get worse.

I miss them but at the same time, I feel kinda free. No more dealing with the toxicity, but at the same time, no more chatting and having fun with them.

I find myself alone and…not really knowing my next move.

(If you sat through all this drama dump, thanks. This was mostly me just yelling into the void)

I just read others comments...lots of people are proud of you and support the good decisions you make for yourself. So very kewl.
I don't know you, but would like to get to know you better! If any of those guys don't realize that making anyone the butt of their jokes is hurtful. Shame on them. Sure a little banter or a little teasing in good fun is ok if you truly know who your joking with. And you have built up that type of friendship, thru communication and trust. However to continue...and it sounds like others jumped on the band wagon... Good for you to x out of their group. You don't need that. Find and hang out with people that lift you up. Encourage you to be the best of yourself, and love and care for you, because your you! Your a leader ...most of that group are followers. And if they don't notice your gone, all the better for you. They were not, nor do they know how, to be a friend. My name is Jenni, my friends call me RohoRed.
what you said I really connect with, I was involved in a friend group like that and I also left like that :0
it’s okay to feel like that~ it just means you now have room to grow now 🌱
and hey! I have a better idea of myself, and I’m sure you will too in time :)💕 ☺️ chin up! that was extremely brave of you
It's hard now, but I think in the long run you'll find yourself grateful for the fact that you were able to do this on your own and that you were strong enough for it. Because you clearly are.
Losing friends, even toxic ones, is never easy but they are basically your door that opens up to new possibilities and opportunities 🌸 you have my support
Hang in there 💜 some friends come and go, I think it was really amazing you put yourself first and distanced yourself. It takes a lot of guts to do that. In my eyes you’ve just made room for new friends! Congrats on almost 100 followers and can’t wait to see more of your art 🤗💜
:( that sucks, toxic friends are the worst
