I’m thinking about doing an actual full piece with a background and one of my characters but part of me is just nervous on doing something outta my comfort zone as I’ve tried doing them before and it just never came out good

even though I was hired as a background artist for animation once
You surprise yourself.
I’d say, take a photo of an environment near you, see if you can copy it. Don’t get hung up on perfect perspective or anything, keep it loose
