You ever preplan an episode of your comic, like you sketch it all out of paper first and everything...
Then you take a picture of it, and you start working, and suddenly you're like, "Oh, this would be funny and be a nicer beginning..." *adds three frames.
Then, "Oh, there should be an extra frame here..." *adds one frame.
And THENNNNN, "What if just add a little bit here? Y'know, like a nice call back to the thing we added earlier." *adds three frames.
So you've suddenly gone from 6 frames to 13 frames, and now you have to line art it all and color... and you think to yourself, "Dangit."May 26, 2025

I don't experience this because I do 1 to 4 panel short comics. Doing this, editing an idea and making it happen are different modes. I don't start a page if I don't know how it ends. Sometimes I cut a panel or realize some idea flows better if adjusted a bit.
I overcommit to my ideas or underestimate the amount of work quite often. It's a balance. Time tracking helps.
