Is it better to live with a family member for a bit and transfer colleges later?

there are some known careers that are super competitive and judgamental like engineering, whats the word for lawyers.. well that. But, more chill careers like arts or more humanists, are super chill. Usually nobody judges. Bc uni mixes every kind of ppl, poor and rich, scholarships or not, kids who studied at home and super social kids. Anything.
I come from a small town waaay far the capital city so i was forced to leave my fam. I stayed with family my first year, i lived alone after that.
2.idk whats Transfer colleges.. if It is what i think It is, like, you're on 3nd year in design but want to change to arts, so they let you get in 2nd year in arts since some subjects are alike? If is that, yeah you can.
3.lmao yes of course. You're finally free from school/parents. If you wanna go to an orgy or a sleepover is
4.yeah. maybe not the first day? The first week in my country, the new guys get... Baptized? But not like religious, they throw egfs and stuff at you and then throw you outside to get money for the initial party lmao. But if your uni is normal, It should be fine,.
Dont be afraid to make the teachers your friends, in school you can get bullied for that, but the Young teachers in uni are super chill, and they usually go to bars with the students, Plus It works for making contacts for works.
You Can start your live over in uni, have fun!

•college freshman here! Here's what I've learned
1) If you can comfortably travel to campus, then live with family instead of payingfor the dorm and fees that come with it. Especially with online classes. If you have troublesome family / can pay the fees / would rather live on campus, then go for it. Get comfy with sharing a bathroom, though.
2) yes, there's nothing wrong with changing colleges.
3) yes. I haven't had sleepovers with /college/ friends (bc I don't have any rip) but I have spent nights at friends houses.
4) Absolutely you can sell stuff. I make little friendship bracelets that I wanna start selling for like, #5.
Other Tips -
1. KEEP TRACK OF YPUR DEADLINES. get a planner. Write down your weekly assignments in a notebook or journal. Try your hardest not to get behind, because the work will pile on.
2. I'm a stem major. My advisor suggests I take 2 lab classes (4 credit hours, one lecture class and one weekly lab class) and 2-3 non-lab classes.
(Chemistry is hard. Take easy classes when you take chemistry.)
2. Group chats with your classmates are a godsend. Maybe the smart kid will save your ass on assignments, maybe you'll be the smart kid and bet worshipped for actually understanding the material. Being able to talk to other students and mutually not understand wtf is going on helped me stay not stressed. I suggest GroupMe.
4. Make a schedule. For me, I have chemistry and botany on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I have English and Statistics on Tuesdays and Thursdays. MWF I only work on chem/botany, Tu/Th I only work on engl/Stat. Weekends are for catching up.
5. Required textbooks are not always required, and if you can DO NOT buy them from your campus' bookstore. They will sell a $20 book for $150.

100% would recommend living with a family member. I’ve lived with my parents throughout my whole experience and it cut down on my debt a fuckTon (about $5000 a year instead of like $10-20k) also usually they have deals either for parking there or for bus transportation. My uni gives me a bus pass I pay $40 a month for (not that I’m using it rn during covid lol) instead of the usual $120 a month it would usually be! So even if you live a bit farther away it’s worth it. However, if you wanna be a part of a big community living on campus will help ya make friends, but I sacrificed friendship for food security lol. Besides, you can make friends in classes/clubs too!

I would also suggest getting a full smaller degree (even if it’s just a 2 year program) before transferring because that’ll guarantee that all your credits transfer over and you won’t have to do the same classes (spend more $$) to get the same degree.
I still have sleepovers with my friends yeah! It’s common to just chill out esp with old close friends C:

Some extra tips n tricks I do:
- get involved and apply for the easy scholarships! Usually there are ones you can apply to just by hitting a single button on your student account. I got a free $300 this way.
Look for books online or second hand. Fuck even check normal bookstores, sometimes they’re cheaper lol. If you order em from the school’s bookstore try to order them a bit a head of time.
Use databases for essays! It’s the only reliable way to find scholarly articles which is gonna be a requirement for any essay you write. AlSO to save time on essay writing, have a separate word/google doc full of quotes from these resources, have em in the format you would need to write your essay in (usually double spaced, 12pt times new Roman font) with the in text citation, and list it under the full citation for the text you’re using, that way you don’t have to read the whole ass article while you’re essay writing.
Do Not take too many hard classes at once. I’ve kept my grades up by taking 1 hard class with 3 easy classes. What’s hard/easy will depend on the person.
USE RATEMYPROF it is the best goddamn website and it has saved me from profs that would have been actual nightmares. The best part of uni is getting to pick your prof! So do the effort it takes to research believe me it’s worth it. It can be the difference between almost failing a hard class and excelling at a hard class.

2) I think so yeah, I don't have any plans for that though. But I do know a lot of people for to a community college for basics then transfer for their degree.

I would say that many of the "college horror stories" your teachers may have told you are not really that true. Like yeah there are tough professors, but there's also a lot of lax ones. My physics 2 prof. literally only gives us four tests with one dropped, no final, and no hw. Another one I had brought us candy every now and then, so just check out reviews and you should be fine! There's a lot going on in college, but honestly if you stay focused and get help when needed it'll be fine. Good luck~!

Don't live with family if you can avoid it, it becomes more of a hassle than anything. A lot of people use college to find themselves and explore independence and family tends to hold people back.
It's very common to transfer schools! Some switch from CC to a Uni and some switch from Uni to Uni. Just be careful since if you don't fully meet the requirements you'll get stuck doing more than 4 years for a degree... Plus it can be difficult to make friends when you constantly switch schools.
Dude sleepovers are more common in college bc no one can tell you not to. Just don't pass out after a party bc you'll feel gross.
People sell stuff all the time, just find a club or a good audience and go off.
Bonus tip: study hard the first year bc if you wanna go to grad school your GPA becomes infinitely harder to raise after that first year. Don't be afraid to talk to randoms in your class and always join a study group or club to socialize, but don't ever join a club related to your major or career choice.
