Middle East Respiratory Syndrome or MERS was first reported in 2012 at Saudi Arabia. It is part of the family of coronaviruses like SARS and COVID-19. MERS has spread throughout countries like the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, then it spread to Europe and the United States.
