Repose
I gave up and caved in to deliver it hours before the deadline hit.
Not very happy with how I handled the background. Contrary to my hyperreal beach dog piece, I sincerely SUCK at landscape.It takes me hours on end using reference and consistent tampering with tools to get things looking as natural and blended into each other as ever possible. Not to mention the days on end hammering at it, soB. I'm very impatient when it comes to obtaining final pieces since, once I have a vision, it's a very limited time frame for me to put ideas down to perfection. When I do lose that image, that's when I disengage from the piece and it joins the realm of unfinished business. I had one other landscape project similar to this one and I do believe it's lost somewhere in the graveyard of my files waiting to get taken up again.
Anyhow, the sleeping beauty is Tsaos and their friend is a character of one of my friends! His name's Genten. He's a deity of life and death. Kinda different from Tsaos' job as a god of creation and existence as a whole HAHA BUT they hang and are buddies.
