Unpopular opinion (not art related but still)
Umm, books that are put to the public view should be written by a certain age group or at least a certain demographic should be written by a certain age group.
I am damn tired of going on inkitt or wattpad and other book reading apps just see scenarios like planned murder / assassination attempts from legit nowhere in a slice of life book or 30 year olds acting like fresh high school students or sex scenes out of nowhere that use terms like ruler, member and "liquid guilt"
.
Wattpad, I'm looking at you cause you're the biggest offender of this.
When I read stuff like this, the first thing that crosses my mind is; this writer must be below 18 huh?
Now I'm not saying people above 18 are suddenly better because I can assure you that despite the age and experience, their writing might still come off as all over the place in comparison to a younger writers' work but a lot of the time when I see haphazardly written books like this I start to think of lack of planning or spontaneity which appears more with people that don't plan a lot of shit out right and hence I think below 18 (please do not attack me, I am also below 18)
Also, I'm not saying they shouldn't post their work, heck I encourage it (it's nice to experience stuff earlier in life so you can grow faster) but maybe, just maybe let someone read it before you post it online without a second thought

Disagree, this sort of gatekeeping encourages not only a weird threshold (like, 18 and then what? Like ppl change over night) but also all sorts if other filtering, and more than often that filtering is mostly targeted on poc, lgbt+, women and gender-non conforming people.
People should be allowed to have a platform foe their art, even if it's just bad written porn.
There's plenty of space on the internet.
