sourpuss and gandy wip i’ll probably never finishthis is a redraw of a panel from the first 1942 terrytoons comic, where gandy and sourpuss meet for the first time after gandy first enlists in the army. at first, sourpuss despises gandy because he sees him as a bumbling idiot, but as the ww2 comic arc progresses, they become inseparable. there is a surprising amount of queer subtext between them (which is ESPECIALLY obvious in the 80s mighty mouse revival). despite the VERY unsubtle propaganda, i really recommend the comics and theatrical shorts of them from this era. it’s terrytoons at its peak.Jun 21, 2025
