How do people draw so many stuff for artfight?
I haven’t even started yet and I’m hoping I get all the characters I’ve bookmarked done.Jul 10, 2024

First, I only RARELY make full-body pieces! It takes the longest to draw the entire character, so I usually only draw headshots to half-bodies at the largest. I most enjoy drawing different faces, so that’s mainly why I usually only draw face-prominent pieces!
A lot of people do flat color digital pieces, meaning the coloring process can be extremely brief thanks to the Bucket Tool (a tool that auto-fills a space entirely with your previously selected color.) The pieces I make don’t allow for bucket-filling the colors since I use a watercolor brush that refuses to be auto-filled via the bucket tool. Digital art isn’t always faster though, as I was able to make more pieces when I did traditional art attacks in 2020 then I’ve ever made since I switched over to making digital art attacks!
Some people (like me) just have a lot more spare time to dedicate to Artfight, & thus have more time to draw more drawings!

•Don't use your drawing app, use some thing that's tricks your brain that you are making quick fun things, I use magma, it's a drawing website, I use that because I somehow draw faster, also don't worry about perfection, this is a fun event not a commission or something serious so don't be afraid to get loose

•For me personally, I practice drawing quickly without losing quality throughout the year (I've been doing this for many years now). It's not a crazy difference but it does make me able to create more drawings than I could before!

•Some people start a month before and prepare drawings. I personally don't but I know some do this to have attacks ready as soon as day 1 opens
