Death In The Sea

Okay, so I’ve posted this before, but I feel I should ask for some pointers since this app has mostly digital artist on it.

It’s my first time asking for a critique too, so let’s see how this goes.

I’m a heavily traditional artist, and I have been for 10 years now. However, this is my second attempt at digital art (done in Procreate), and it’s also an attempt at two things I’ve never drawn before (under water and tentacles). Working with the lighting of that was really difficult to do even with using references, and getting the textures right was problematic.

Even the skull looks a little weird, which bothers me because there’s a drawing on my page before this one done in 2018 that looks WAY better. Although that one was done in colorpencil. Maybe I was just overthinking it too much on this, since it’s completely out of my element, but idk.

So I’m asking the awesome people of Artfol for some tips on what I can do to make this look more realistic, brushes, techniques or anything else that could help me! I’d really appreciate it!
