@pinkieglitterheart's post on Artfol
I'm unsure if the pixel artist person's post is loading for me (its doing this similar thing the eye question post did making it hard to read comments and for someone hoping to see them thats a problem.
my question to them or other pixel artist is how to shade it? what canvas sizes work for ibispaint x and the look of other pixel art vs game pixel art.
I wanna try both since game ones can do this simple look that bets the character so well and then the drawing is cool when seeing it big to!Nov 3, 2021

(There are so many pixel artists on the platform it's crazy but henlo) Believe it or not, if you have a large pixel size, it really is not that different from your regular shading rules in other art...
For smaller ones like in games, it gets harder because you barely have enough space for details already, what about shading- same rules work but I guess you have to think or experiment with whether you want to prioritize detail first or shading, then proceed as usual... Understand as well that it will look really weird sometimes- you're only working with like a 16x16 size canvas when making small game assets in some games so I guess just keep moving pixels around or experiment til you're satisfied
I use Aseprite so don't know how pixel art would work outside of Aseprite and Photoshop in terms of compatibility in canvas sizes... Major apologies m8
Game art and the non-game sides of pixel art are unique- game art works on assets usually and repeating items, patterns, animations, etc. Whilst other pixel art is diverse (and it's crazy how diverse it gets- believe me when I say people get shocked when I say i recreate the real world to pixel art and have 0 talent at game art) that you can't really group it all together into one descriptive look and it's like seeing the regular art we all see here but in the form of tiny squares... not sure if that's what you were asking but I tried
I think it's just best to play around with it and see what you like and I hope I helped a bit T-T

@mi_art hi so I can't see your post's comments at all and my app closes instead so I have a few questions regarding pixel art.
I have some on this post to and if it went through your post as well.
one from this post is how does it work in general? and how different game pixel art works and shading for them? how does one simplify or make a character more simple. what size works for the app I mentioned for big, medium, and small pieces? are there free apps you recommend?
