‘Do you want a pastry?’ said the cheery baker with a voice that, curiously, came from below the building. I breathed in the appetising scents of ginger, cinnamon, orange, and freshly baked bread that floated from the kitchen in front of me. ‘We use only the freshest spices. Stay and have some mulled wine too!’
‘Do, it’s delicious!’ said another person next to me, clearly the same speaker, just putting on a different voice.
