"Is this our last goodbye?"This piece is so special to me, I'm scared my description won't do it justice.

For context, I have been in a long-distance relationship for almost five years now. It's also important to note that my partner is the sweetest in the world <3

Sometimes, when we're apart, I worry that I'll start to forget him. Even with all the pictures I have of him, I get scared that I'll never be able to draw him again. Because how could I, if I ever forgot any of the little details that make him.. him?

So, I made this, willing myself to remember every little thing a picture can't take. And there I am, placing forget-me-nots in his hair, almost like a prayer.

The pose is a direct study of "Paul and Virginia" by Alessandro Puttinati. I've admired this sculpture for years and never knew that it had a tragic love story behind it. Now that I know, I find it kind of fitting for the themes of this piece.

Thanks for reading <3

So lovely
This is so beautiful! 🥺💗
Even without reading the description or knowing about the sculpture, the tenderness in your piece is palpable. I agree, it conveys everything a photo couldn't show. The emotion, the detail that is important to a human eye compared to a camera lense.... this is what art is for. ✨
