The Hayholt - The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams - Sketch WIP

Have you ever drawn the map from a book as you read it for the first time? Here’s my sketch so far for the city map of The Hayholt from Tad Williams novel, The Dragonbone Chair!

You may know that one of the things I enjoy doing when I begin reading a new series is to draw the map as I go.

It has been a very long time since I did a true city map, and when I saw this map of The Hayholt, I figured this was a great opportunity.

There aren’t many maps of this city from what I could find, and the ones that exist contradict each other in several areas. So I did my best to combine what I found, along with a little of my own creative license.
