Does anyone else not feel like a person? Like it feels like i dont have a personality besides 'awkward' and real friendship seems like a strange concept to me. Every social interaction outside my family feels like a constant performance to me that I'm always failing.May 28, 2025

As woods_windows said it could be depersonalization. I suffer from that but to more extent derealization, like normal life feels very unreal sometimes. Read somewhere these are associated with anxiety issues (or sometimes, depression). It passes though, evetually. Socializing is really hard, try to be kind to yourself <3
Yeah, I feel similarly. I don’t 100% know who, or what, I am all of the time…
I wish I had advice but I honestly just try to push that aside, aside from when I can be open about it like here haha.
Could it be because you don’t feel like you can be yourself with the friends you have?
I myself am very much just an awkward mpc around people i don’t know particularly well. Even if i’ve know them for a long time.
The closer we get the more my personality comes through.
If two people i know well were to describe me, they would probably have very different descriptions of me, as they know me in different ways.
I feel like a person but the older I get the less human I feel if that makes sense. Like I struggle to connect with other adults because I’m so different from them and don’t understand the adult world of socializing.
Try looking into depersonalization, we've got that and it sometimes it's like this, I struggle feeling like I'm real and that I'm an entire person sometimes, the human mind can be odd
