Euan’s InspirationsEuan was designed after Rook and most of the chessassins, so a lot of my decisions were made to contrast him against the Board and Rook in particular, but here are the characters I took inspiration from.
Captain America: Like I said on my post about Rook’s inspirations, I originally created Rook inspired by the Winter Soldier. Which technically makes Euan the Captain America of the story. The resemblance is much less apparent, but I guess they’re both guys who got real strong to fight an insidious organisation and their masked nemesis who works for it.
The Protomen: Same deal, Protomen songs got me inspired to design the whole Board! Keep Quiet in particular is Euan encountering Rook for the first time.
Samwise Gamgee: He’s a gardener, he’s pure of heart, he’s loyal to the core, you get it. Top tier character.
Guillermo de la Cruz: I love that Guillermo is a soft and friendly figure in knitted sweaters who becomes a badass fighter without losing any of those traits or losing weight.May 8, 2023

I fear Guillermo is the only character I am familiar with, but based off of aesthetics and the vauge knowledge i have of the rest, they fit so well! Adoring this Evan lore SO much!
