Does anybody have some tips on how to make my Minecraft builds actually look good? Maybe some YouTube recommendations or something? Cos like, I literally made this huge mansion once and it just looks like a freaking wood box with a little tiny door on one side and some windows scattered all over randomly. I mean, it’s super cool once you go inside but… yeah… and now I’m wanting to make a pirate ship in one of my survival worlds and I don’t even know where to start lol

I feel that! I'll sketch this cute idea and then I'll build it and it's just a cobblestone box

•If you wanna get good at building, I reccomend watching minecraft builder YouTubers! One of my favorites is grian. He’s a great Minecraft youtuber who does a lot of building, and if you want, you can watch a series he’s in called hermitcraft with a bunch of other really talented people! I’ve gotten tons of inspiration and knowledge from just watching people play and glimpsing their builds.
Also, here’s some tips I’ve picked up from watching YouTube a lot and practicing
1. Use a lot of different materials. Don’t stick to just oak planks, mix in some logs, maybe some stone accents, maybe some green in a garden for contrast
2. Look up real world references! Find a style or a specific building and try and see how things look, what colors are used, etc
3. Add little details! Windows, chimneys, dormers on roofs, porches, and other things can be great small additions to making a house look good!
4. Give your building shape. Don’t just make it a perfect square, give it some indents, bits poking out, and more!
