Point to important details of their design, maybe add closeups of small or complicated things (a necklace with a specific design on it, a tattoo, important detail in their eye, ...)

I dont know what the reference sheet is for and you can put anything on it, but personally I prefer if the information on there isn't too much. For example the ref sheet I've made was for artfight, so the purpose was for other people to know how to draw them. If you put the whole backstory and personality on there it quickly becomes crowded, you have to make the font smaller, and it becomes hard to read. On Artfight (and websites like toyhouse too) you have the option to put that kind of stuff in the description, which I'd recommend. That way the information is still there, but it doesn't distract from the character themselves and the important details of their design
It kind of depends on the purpose of your reference sheet.

The absolute basic stuff in my opinion are their name, height, and species so things are scaled correctly,it's easier to find references, and if you somehow forget how to spell their name,it's there. Clarification for confusing aspects is likely needed too, unless it's for personal use.

I add a sentence that describes their role in my story as well.
Name
Age
Gender
Pronouns
Height

Close ups + typed/written descriptions on little details
uhh name age species height personality backstory :3
