Chapter 4 - Razor Conclusion [10/14]

I think the conclusion of the Razor chapters is both insane in their own way. I don´t really think I have a preference to be honest. I feel like both of these endings makes sense with the theme of the Razor. Both versions is about the player taking control back from the Razor, but in different ways. In Mutually Assured Destruction, the player defeats the Razor in one last fight between them, which satisfies the Razor. In the Empty Cup, the player refuses to engage in violence, taking the Razors ability to hurt him away from her. In frustration, she destroys her own body in an attempt to maintain her control over the character dynamic between her and the player. The last thing you´re left with is her heart, the only organic and human part of her left. I interpert this as the player regretting his action from chapter 1, trying to make amends with the Razor, but because her language is violence, the player is forced to end the violence by destroying her razor body, making her unable to hurt anyone.
In both endings, the Razor is forced to remember her true role as the Princess, not as the unstoppable killing machine.
