Creating a D&D encounter and I made myself depressed.
My players best friend was a normal human turned into a dryad/treeant combination by being forced in by dimension hopping.
One of the antagonist was corrupted by fey to become a blood thristy maniac snake after dimension hopping to the wrong place.
They were both together and in deep love but were in the same dimension hopping incident that fricked them up and made them forget their past life, bassicaly were reincarnated.
When they meet each other, the Snake suddenly gains a concious and the tree (who hasn't shown any emotion other then hate and humour) breaks down crying.
Just it's so pure that one of the parties best friends and one of their antagonists recognise each other after begin apart for millenia across dimensions. (We'll meet again plays)
