Artist Support Answer this QOTD and I’ll share my favorite artwork on your gallery!
Remember to check out other artists who comment as well! QOTD~ If you had to guess, on average how long do you spend on a normal illustration? How long does your process usually take you? (Ex: sketch, line art, color, etc)
These are really fun to do and it’s a good way to find new artists to follow! The last one went really well so I’ll probably do more of these in the future to~May 19, 2021

2-3hrs, although on my much more complex detailed pieces it can go to 15-20hrs. My sketches usually take a while, anywhere from 20min to 2hrs.

•This is an interesting question because it can vary a lot. For most of my pixel art portraits, I'd say roughly 2 - 3 hours. I do a lot of experimentation, so that can add a few hours as well. My process has also changed a lot so it's a bit hard to put an estimate on some pieces even. I used to do sketch + line art first, now I block in shapes first then do the line art, which has saved me a lot of time.

I work fairly slowly and I’m constantly juggling 20 other things. Realistically, it takes a few hours for a sketch, an hour for lines, and then several hours to color and finish, but I don’t have the time to focus on drawing for that long with no interruptions. I also often work on more than one piece at a time because my mood and attention span can be all over the place.

•In total I think about 4-6 hours. But I also work most days so I dont have that much time to draw. Some times it takes days and weeks to finish a piece XD

It really depends on my mood. And if I go for a full background. Normally 13-15 hours. With a full background 23+ hours.

•It really depends. The process is getting an idea, scrounging up some references, thumbnails, color swatches, extra designs if needed, sketch, then render. Each piece can take hours, days, or even weeks but much of the work is through the design process and not actually finishing up the drawing itself.

•Yo thanks, mine usually take from 2-8 hours, depends most on how many characters are in it. Sketch usually takes under an hour and I seem to shade pretty fast, so I don’t know where the time goes.
