Gabby Maiden
A few years back, I was scrolling through instagram randomly, as one does, and I came across Gabby’s page. I scrolled through a few of her posts, and saw a black girl with natural hair snowboarding, and even skateboarding. I instantly knew that I had to follow her, as those are sports that I personally enjoy, and it was so cool to see another black woman doing these things. What I didn’t know at the time was that Gabby was the first professional black female snowboarder ever. Like, EVER. I’ve been following along quietly for a few years, and she is just the coolest. She also acts and sings, and just gives off really good vibes in general. I had a blast drawing her!
