Earth dragon
Hey guys! There's definitely something I really don't like about this piece, but I'm struggling to identify what it is. Any critique would be appreciated

I love the idea, is truly beautiful. The only suggestion I can give you is the same others already give you, to blend a little more and play with colours.

I absolutely love this already!
The only thing I can think of is what everyone else suggested dealing with values. Creating a layer set to "color" filled with black above all your layers is a quick way to check values, or you can create a custom proof setup to accomplish it too in Photoshop!

β’Woahh thats so cool honestly idk how i would improve it but it does blend together a lot bcs its all mostly dark wait to that was advice anyways maybe adding more light could help

β’It all depends on the mood you expect for it to give out. If you want to add something to it, try a "color dodge" and/or "add" layers to add sunlight into it and warm shadows! Its a very pretty effect, but that's varies from artist to artist. Γ³wΓ²

β’I love the concept. Maybe you should take a look at the values by turning your image to B&W, by doing that you will see if your image has enough contrast.

β’Wooaahh this concept is awesome. i love this, the amount of detail
I think maybe the thing throwing it off is that there isnt a lot of light? It makes a lot of your detail blend together. Youre really good at establishing your darks, maybe add some lighter bits along the roots and trunk and stuff. Great work!
